The cornerstone of the spine of life at the school is discipline
We at St. Cretien’s believe that discipline is an integral part of living in an orderly society, and this code of school regulations, drawn up with the help of the School Pupil Council, should serve as a guide to making our community one based on tolerance and mutual respect
- No biscuits allowed in classes
- Aprons worn for art/DT lessons or in the science labs should have all the buttons done up, including the top one
- Boys ties should be worn with the wider end on the outside, about 6 inches lower than the narrower end; Obviously this depends on height, and the thickness of the individual boy’s neck, but Matron can help with this
- Bed covers should be pulled neatly back in order to let the air get to them
- No fancy coloured shoelaces
- Do not fold the corners of books borrowed from the School Library; use a bookmark instead
- Any visitors to the school without ID issued by Security must be led in a friendly
manner by the hand to the school office or to the nearest responsible adult -
always ask them if they need to visit the toilets first - Clean teeth three times a day
- Pencils for use outside of Art classes should be HB
- Phone calls home to parents must not be openly disparaging about the school
- Do not use any other language other than English (unless specifically in a MFL or Latin lesson)
- Try not to cry more than twice in a single day, as it can bring everybody else down
- If not in school uniform, make sure that your clothes are sober and do not attract undue attention
- Never swear, even if a teacher hits you
